My take on the Texas Tech game...

This one comes down on the defense to put us in a position to win it. The offense will need to play even better than they played last week, but even in that case, the defense has to keep Tech off the scoreboard. 18, 10, 7, or 13 points from the offense is just not going to win this game.

Tech was not 60 points better than Nebraska last year; last year's score got out of hand only after Joe Dailey was benched for a true freshman quarterback who had 5 turnovers deep in our own territory. Those 5 turnovers became the final 35 of 70 points, turning a bad loss into a disaster.

Last year's 3 man pass rush against Tech was a disaster, and defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove is not going to make that same mistake again. With the depth we now have up front and our less experienced secondary, the game plan should be to put pressure on Tech QB Cody Hodges early and often. That was the recipe that the Kansas Fighting Manginos used last week to keep Tech from rolling up and down the field. It should be a good template for the Huskers this week.

Now that the Texas Tech game is over, I have something to say. What the crap was that? We played so awesome, we fought back from 21 down to get that close. You know who lost it for us was that Nebraska guy who picked it off inside the 20, then fumbled with less than 2 minutes to go. He gave Texas Tech a fresh set of down and all the time they needed. Was he trying for the glorious 90 yard touchdown return? It's pretty difficult when you weigh 290 pounds. Just fall down bonehead. What the crap? We could have run the time off the clock. Tech only had 1 timeout. We had that game and would have won by 4 but he had to go and try to advance the pick. What an idiot. I love my Huskers, but that was just stupid. Fall down, take the victory. I'm so mad about that one. We should have had it. That was ours to win and that defensive bonehead blew it for us. AAAAAAHHHHHHH! Dang it. Well at least Oklahoma sucks this year. That almost makes it worth it.

Lighten up on LeKevin. This is a team game, and there are plenty of other players that made mistakes that hurt the team today.
