Regent Hassebrook: Dump UNO Football

In the wake of NU Regent Randy Ferlic's declaration that athletics are too big, another NU regent has jumped into the fray. Regent Chuck Hassebrook of Lyons, already no friend to UNO, resurrected his 10 year old call to drop football at UNO in a letter to the Omaha World-Herald's "Public Pulse". In further comments to the AP's Eric Olson, Hassebrook came out firmly against UNO moving to Division 1, and in fact, indicated that he prioritizes Nebraska-Kearney's football program above UNO's.

Hassebrook's disdain of Nebraska-Omaha was shown last year, when he opposed building additional dorms at UNO, implying that the other campuses should have priority with dorms.
